Question 1

How does the Trans Nordic Travel journey planner work?

Accepted Answer

Choose where you arrive, then pick each next stop on the map. The planner suggests connections by train, coach, ship, flight or road, builds a day-by-day itinerary with hotels, tours and transfers, and shows the total price once you complete the itinerary.

Question 2

Which countries and regions can I plan?

Accepted Answer

Finland (Helsinki, Rovaniemi, Levi, Saariselkä, Inari), Arctic Norway (Tromsø, Alta, Kirkenes, Lofoten), southern Norway (Oslo, Bergen, Flåm), Sweden (Stockholm, Kiruna), Denmark (Copenhagen) and Iceland (Reykjavík, the South Coast, East Iceland and Akureyri).

Question 3

Are the prices final?

Accepted Answer

No. Prices are indicative estimates and are confirmed when your journey is booked. Hotel, tour and transport availability is not guaranteed until confirmed.

Question 4

Can I travel by night train or overnight ferry?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Sleeper trains such as Helsinki to Rovaniemi and overnight ferries such as Copenhagen to Oslo or Stockholm to Helsinki are included. Your night on board replaces a hotel night, and the planner adjusts the day times for you.

Question 5

Do you offer private transfers and private vehicles with a driver?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Private transfers are offered at airports, railway stations and ferry terminals, and for long distances between cities. For groups you can add a multi-day private vehicle with driver: a van for 1 to 6 guests, a minibus for 7 to 14 and a coach for 15 to 45.

Question 6

Can I choose hotels by budget?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Choose a hotel budget at the start and the planner suggests hotels rated 8.0 or higher in that class, with other classes available in each stop.

Question 7

Do you work with tour operators and travel agents?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Tour operators, travel agents and travel advisors can register for the partner portal. Applications are reviewed before access is given.
